Wood & Water Garden Structures
Timber Decking

There is a wide range of timbers used for decking, these range from the treated soft wood deck boards commonly available from most suppliers all the way to English Oak and even tropical timbers such as Iroko or Balau wood. These are usually available, smooth, with groves and ribs or even with high grip options. The wood deck can also be stained to match your desired tone and colour and with the correct maintenance regime can last for 10 years or more, especially if the subframe is using the composite or aluminium structural components.
Note that the soft woods are less hard wearing and will rot and decay quicker than hardwoods but the hardwoods WILL still decay if not cared for properly. They can be very expensive timbers hence why the composite decking has become a favourite in recent years.
Treated Softwood
Pressure treated decking boards are the most commonly installed due to their competitive price point. It is a versatile material to work with allowing for bespoke creations on a reasonable budget.
Tropical species
If a tropical deck is your fantasy then we will work with a supplier of your chosen species to ensure not only that your deck looks amazing when first installed but also the correct maintainance regime to keep it looking stunning.
wood treatments, oils & stains
Treating your timber decking with appropriate treatments every year improves the longevity of your timber decking and helps maintain its aesthetic appeal. There are a massive variety of wood presevitives, oils, stains and treatments that can be applied to timber. Which one is correct depends on the timber species and on the finish you desire (satin versus high sheen and natural colour versus stained).
Oak Decking
Oak is a favourite timber for most of history for its aesthetic appeal, strength and longevity. Available in a grooved or smooth finish these boards will really make a statement.
High Grip decking options
Although most decking manufacturers sell high grip decking as part of their range there are some options where this is not desired or possible with the species chosen, this is where we can discuss alternatives such as cutting our own grooves or profile edges
Balustrades & handrails
Sometimes there is a product available from a supplier's catalogue however where required will coordinate with reputable fabricator /suppliers to ensure the handrail and balustrades impress.
